* core/command_queue_mt: Fix crash/hang when buffer fills upLyuma2020-10-121-1/+1
| | | | | This patch fixes two related issues. One is the race condition in issue #42107.. The other is a crash which happens when the reader is lapped near the end of the buffer.
* core/command_queue_mt: Customizable size and testsLyuma2020-10-121-0/+5
| | | | | Adds unit tests for command_queue_mt.h/cpp In this revision, some unit tests will fail due to issue #42107.
* Style: Enforce braces around if blocks and loopsRémi Verschelde2020-05-141-2/+4
| | | | | Using clang-tidy's `readability-braces-around-statements`. https://clang.llvm.org/extra/clang-tidy/checks/readability-braces-around-statements.html
* Style: clang-format: Disable KeepEmptyLinesAtTheStartOfBlocksRémi Verschelde2020-05-141-6/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Which means that reduz' beloved style which we all became used to will now be changed automatically to remove the first empty line. This makes us lean closer to 1TBS (the one true brace style) instead of hybridating it with some Allman-inspired spacing. There's still the case of braces around single-statement blocks that needs to be addressed (but clang-format can't help with that, but clang-tidy may if we agree about it). Part of #33027.
* Port member initialization from constructor to declaration (C++11)Rémi Verschelde2020-05-141-13/+0
| | | | | | | | | | Using `clang-tidy`'s `modernize-use-default-member-init` check and manual review of the changes, and some extra manual changes that `clang-tidy` failed to do. Also went manually through all of `core` to find occurrences that `clang-tidy` couldn't handle, especially all initializations done in a constructor without using initializer lists.

* Drop old semaphore implementationPedro J. Estébanez2020-03-031-6/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | - Removed platform-specific implementations. - Now all semaphores are in-object, unless they need to be conditionally created. - Similarly to `Mutex`, provided a dummy implementation for when `NO_THREADS` is defined. - Similarly to `Mutex`, methods are made `const` for easy use in such contexts. - Language bindings updated: `wait()` and `post()` are now `void`. - Language bindings updated: `try_wait()` added. Bonus: - Rewritten the `#ifdef` in `mutex.h` to meet the code style.
* Reimplement Mutex with C++'s <mutex>Pedro J. Estébanez2020-02-261-6/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Main: - It's now implemented thanks to `<mutex>`. No more platform-specific implementations. - `BinaryMutex` (non-recursive) is added, as an alternative for special cases. - Doesn't need allocation/deallocation anymore. It can live in the stack and be part of other classes. - Because of that, it's methods are now `const` and the inner mutex is `mutable` so it can be easily used in `const` contexts. - A no-op implementation is provided if `NO_THREADS` is defined. No more need to add `#ifdef NO_THREADS` just for this. - `MutexLock` now takes a reference. At this point the cases of null `Mutex`es are rare. If you ever need that, just don't use `MutexLock`. - Thread-safe utilities are therefore simpler now. Misc.: - `ScopedMutexLock` is dropped and replaced by `MutexLock`, because they were pretty much the same. - Every case of lock, do-something, unlock is replaced by `MutexLock` (complex cases where it's not straightfoward are kept as as explicit lock and unlock). - `ShaderRD` contained an `std::mutex`, which has been replaced by `Mutex`.

* Update copyright statements to 2020Rémi Verschelde2020-01-011-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | Happy new year to the wonderful Godot community! We're starting a new decade with a well-established, non-profit, free and open source game engine, and tons of further improvements in the pipeline from hundreds of contributors. Godot will keep getting better, and we're looking forward to all the games that the community will keep developing and releasing with it.
* Fix alignment and locking issues with CommandQueueMTHein-Pieter van Braam2019-02-161-1/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | The allocations of commands in CommandQueueMT weren't aligned. This commit aligns all accesses on 64bit boundaries regardless of target platform. This ensures that all types are aligned. Lock-wise the semaphores were maked as usable when the command had ran but not when the synchronous stub had finished with it. This lead to a race condition where sometimes the semaphore got reused before it was waited on. We now mark the semaphore as free only once we're done waiting on it.

* Make core/ includes absolute, remove subfolders from include pathRémi Verschelde2018-09-121-1/+1
| | | | | | This allows more consistency in the manner we include core headers, where previously there would be a mix of absolute, relative and include path-dependent includes.

* Add missing copyright headers and fix formattingRémi Verschelde2018-01-051-0/+1
| | | | | | Using `misc/scripts/fix_headers.py` on all Godot files. Some missing header guards were added, and the header inclusion order was fixed in the Bullet module.

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | I can show you the code Pretty, with proper whitespace Tell me, coder, now when did You last write readable code? I can open your eyes Make you see your bad indent Force you to respect the style The core devs agreed upon A whole new world A new fantastic code format A de facto standard With some sugar Enforced with clang-format A whole new world A dazzling style we all dreamed of And when we read it through It's crystal clear That now we're in a whole new world of code
* Style: Cleanups, added headers, renamed filesRémi Verschelde2017-01-161-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | Made sure files in core/ and tools/ have a proper Godot license header when written by us. Also renamed aabb.{cpp,h} and object_type_db.{cpp,h} to rect3.{cpp,h} and class_db.{cpp,h} respectively. Also added a proper header to core/io/base64.{c,h} after clarifying the licensing with the original author (public domain).
* Welcome in 2017, dear changelog reader!Rémi Verschelde2017-01-011-1/+1
| | | | | | | | That year should bring the long-awaited OpenGL ES 3.0 compatible renderer with state-of-the-art rendering techniques tuned to work as low as middle end handheld devices - without compromising with the possibilities given for higher end desktop games of course. Great times ahead for the Godot community and the gamers that will play our games!
