* Style: Harmonize header includes in platform portsRémi Verschelde2023-06-081-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This applies our existing style guide, and adds a new rule to that style guide for modular components such as platform ports and modules: Includes from the platform port or module should be included with relative paths (relative to the root folder of the modular component, e.g. `platform/linuxbsd/`), in their own section before Godot's "core" includes. The `api` and `export` subfolders also need to be handled as self-contained (and thus use relative paths for their "local" includes) as they are all compiled for each editor platform, without necessarily having the api/export matching platform folder in the include path. E.g. the Linux editor build will compile `platform/android/{api,export}/*.cpp` and those need to use relative includes for it to work.
* Use BitField<> in core type masksJuan Linietsky2023-01-081-1/+1
| | | | | | | | * All core types masks are now correctly marked as bitfields. * The enum hacks in MouseButtonMask and many other types are gone. This ensures that binders to other languages non C++ can actually implement type safe bitmasks. * Most bitmask operations replaced by functions in BitField<> * Key is still a problem because its enum and mask at the same time. While it kind of works in C++, this most likely can't be implemented safely in other languages and will have to be changed at some point. Mostly left as-is. * Documentation and API dump updated to reflect bitfields in core types.
* One Copyright Update to rule them allRémi Verschelde2023-01-051-29/+29
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | As many open source projects have started doing it, we're removing the current year from the copyright notice, so that we don't need to bump it every year. It seems like only the first year of publication is technically relevant for copyright notices, and even that seems to be something that many companies stopped listing altogether (in a version controlled codebase, the commits are a much better source of date of publication than a hardcoded copyright statement). We also now list Godot Engine contributors first as we're collectively the current maintainers of the project, and we clarify that the "exclusive" copyright of the co-founders covers the timespan before opensourcing (their further contributions are included as part of Godot Engine contributors). Also fixed "cf." Frenchism - it's meant as "refer to / see".

* Style: Remove inconsistently used `@author` docstringsRémi Verschelde2022-01-041-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | Each file in Godot has had multiple contributors who co-authored it over the years, and the information of who was the original person to create that file is not very relevant, especially when used so inconsistently. `git blame` is a much better way to know who initially authored or later modified a given chunk of code, and most IDEs now have good integration to show this information.

* Modernize atomicsPedro J. Estébanez2021-02-181-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | - Based on C++11's `atomic` - Reworked `SafeRefCount` (based on the rewrite by @hpvb) - Replaced free atomic functions by the new `SafeNumeric<T>` - Replaced wrong cases of `volatile bool` by the new `SafeFlag` - Platform-specific implementations no longer needed Co-authored-by: Hein-Pieter van Braam-Stewart <hp@tmm.cx>
* Dynamically load libudev.so.1 on Linux if `udev=yes`Rémi Verschelde2021-02-171-2/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This makes it possibly to run Linux binaries compiled with udev support on Linux systems which do not provide udev (typically systemd-less distros). If udev is missing, we fall back to parsing `/dev/input` like when compiled without udev support (`udev=no`). Also adding some verbose debug statements to know which method we're using when debugging Linux joypad issues. The libudev so wrappers were generated on Mageia 8 with libudev 246.9 using https://github.com/hpvb/dynload-wrapper: ``` ./generate-wrapper.py --include /usr/include/libudev.h --sys-include '<libudev.h>' \ --soname libudev.so.1 --init-name libudev --omit-prefix gnu_ \ --output-header libudev-so_wrap.h --output-implementation libudev-so_wrap.c ```
* Modernize ThreadPedro J. Estébanez2021-01-291-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | - Based on C++11's `thread` and `thread_local` - No more need to allocate-deallocate or check for null - No pointer anymore, just a member variable - Platform-specific implementations no longer needed (except for the few cases of non-portable functions) - Simpler for `NO_THREADS` - Thread ids are now the same across platforms (main is 1; others follow)
* Update copyright statements to 2021Rémi Verschelde2021-01-011-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Happy new year to the wonderful Godot community! 2020 has been a tough year for most of us personally, but a good year for Godot development nonetheless with a huge amount of work done towards Godot 4.0 and great improvements backported to the long-lived 3.2 branch. We've had close to 400 contributors to engine code this year, authoring near 7,000 commit! (And that's only for the `master` branch and for the engine code, there's a lot more when counting docs, demos and other first-party repos.) Here's to a great year 2021 for all Godot users 🎆

* Rename InputFilter back to InputRémi Verschelde2020-04-281-5/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | It changed name as part of the DisplayServer and input refactoring in #37317, with the rationale that input no longer goes through the main loop, so the previous Input singleton now only does filtering. But the gains in consistency are quite limited in the renaming, and it breaks compatibility for all scripts and tutorials that access the Input singleton via the scripting language. A temporary option was suggested to keep the scripting singleton named `Input` even if its type is `InputFilter`, but that adds inconsistency and breaks C#. Fixes godotengine/godot-proposals#639. Fixes #37319. Fixes #37690.
